DIY – Fall Tablescape

Image

I can not believe that Thanksgiving is this week, and with it being only a few days away there’s so many last-minute things to get done before the big day. Since most of the time is spent on preparing the meal for the guests, its leaves not a lot of time to decorate your table. I tend to pull my inspiration for fall tablescapes from nature, keeping it clean and simplistic.

I wanted to bring in a little bit of outside inside this year and was inspired by those expensive wood tealight centerpieces in many of the big box stores. Find the supplies and steps below to create your very own. Enjoy!!

Supplies:

• piece of wood (branch)

• Tealights (votives)

• Pencil

• Sanding sponge

• Drill with 1½ paddle bit

Steps:

1. Find your piece of wood in your backyard or around the area. Make sure the wood is at least double the thickness of your tealight votive.

2. Sand your wood to smooth out edges.

3. Mark where you will place your votives on the wood.

4. Use a hand drill with a 1½ inch paddle bit. So all holes are the same depth, wrap a piece of painter’s tape around the paddle bit so you know when to stop drilling.

5. Insert tealight votives.
