In this months subscription box, I received the following items:

  • Nicka K New York Nail Color (Red)
  • Organix Coconut Water Shampoo & Conditioner
  • Glam Natural Mascara
  • Eslor Introductory Collection Calming Kit
  • Vita Bath Body Wash

The products this month valued at over $30, a great steal for only $12/monthly subscription.

There is also the option to subscribe quarterly for $30 (save $6), or yearly for $99 (save $45).

  1. Nicka K New York Nail Color (Red) – A new product for me to try out and I am impressed. Great color, and super durable from chips (tends to happen to me alot, especially more these days with a 9 month old). Also DBP, Toluene and added formaldehyde free lacquer – for those trying to avoid unwanted chemicals like me.
  2. Organix Coconut Water Shampoo & Conditioner – A lightweight ultra hydrating boost for your hair. Lets face it the summer sun and stress from pools, can strip your hair of its natural moisture leaving it not so nice and manageable. This helps bring it back to life at the end of a hot summer day. Transform hair into shiny perfection with nutrient rich electrolytes. It is residue free & sulfate free formula.
  3. Glam Natural Mascara – A classic black mascara for those eco-conscious women. Its vegan, gluten, paraben & cruelty free. Also great for those with sensitive eyes. For me it was good for my bottom lashes but didn’t compare to my normal mascara on my top lashes.
  4. Eslor Introductory Collection Calming Kit – Specifically formulated with a selection of natural ingredients and botanical extracts known to calm inflammation while hydrating and restoring balance to the skin! 100% Free of Parabens, Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) and Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulphate (SLES). I havent had a chance to give this a try yet, but love the concept of the company and its ingredients. Definitely worth a try.
  5. Vita Bath Body Wash – A luxurious lather with gently cleansing Sulfate and Paraben Free formula. It will leave your skin feeling clean, refreshed and vibrant. Antioxidant rich super fruit blend, Vitamin A, B3, C, E and Pro-Vitamin B5 skin conditioning nutrients enrich the formula, no Petro-Chemicals or Triclosan, & free of propylene glycol, DEA, TEA, mineral oils and silicone.

Beautybox5 – March Review

20140315-093431.jpg

With the weather starting to change and the first day of Spring this coming week, this months Beautybox5 has you right on track for the season – Spring Cleaning!

I know for me after the brutal winter we faced up in the Northeast this year, my skin is begging for a little TLC and these products are to do just that.

For those unfamiliar with the company, BeautyBox5 is a subscription based beauty sampling program that send 5 cosmetic samples to your door monthly. It is geared to helping introduce women to new cosmetic products and educating them as well. The products vary monthly and are based on best products for your lifestyle.

Memberships perks for being a monthly BeautyBox5 subscriber is:

All members receive FREE shipping, & receive exclusive discounts from their partner brands.

In this months subscription box, I received the following items:

  • Jane’s Pick All Natural Soaps
  • Tree Hut Shea Body Butter
  • Bellapierre Cosmetics Makeup Base
  • H2O Plus Hand & Nail Cream
  • Swissco Dual-sided Facial Pad

The products this month valued at over $50, a great steal for only $12/monthly subscription.

There is also the option to subscribe quarterly for $30 (save $6), or yearly for $99 (save $45).

The first item I tried out was Jane’s Pick All Natural Soap in Peace (Lavender & Litsea). It’s all natural made with a base of Olive Oil, Shea Butter, Hemp Seed Oil, Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Avocado Oil, the finest Pure Essential Oils. Those who know me know how big I am into ingredients like these, simple, natural and effective.  The bar lathers nicely and can be used on your entire body, but I especially like the way it work on my face. It leaves a nice clean – no residue or dryness, just simply clean. This is a great product to have in your home, especially with the great homemade look, it’s a piece of art to display even for your guests to wash their hands.

The next product I tried, was the Swissco Dual-sided Facial Pad, and I used it with the All Natural Soap on my face. Now for anyone with sensitive skin I wouldn’t use this facial pad more than once a week  – as with any kind of exfoliant. If you exfoliate too much you may tend to stress the skin out a bit which can lead to over sensitivity, and possibly over oil production – like anything use it in moderation, rule of thumb for me is exfoliation about 1-2 times a week. This specific facial pad is a great item to add to your bathing/cleansing routine without a doubt. The soft terry cloth side is an alternative to a wash cloth, and the other side helps get that dead layer of skin off. For those that have spring break, or summer on the mind – this is the best side to help exfoliate the dead skin prior to being either in the sun or using a self tanner and not looking blotchy.

Now after any bath or shower, its crucial to apply a lotion. This is when it tends to absorb better into the skin and also helps any dryness that can be caused by water residue. Shea Body butter has always been a go to item for me, and with the Tree Hut Shea Body Butter in Coconut Lime – it not only helped my skin, but transported me to the “scent” of summer – margaritas & suntan lotion! The product is made of certified organic shea butter and natural extracts, is paraben free and provides natural anti-aging properties.

You can not forget about your hands this time of year. I myself between getting manicures and pedicures, keep my hands and nails moisturized. H2O Plus Hand & Nail Cream does just that. It provides your hands with the hydration they need to soften them without being greasy and is light-weight. From the silk proteins, Vitamin E and marine botanicals this Spa product is perfectly targeted for optimal hand care. This will be a go to and will be in my purse at all times!

Last but not least is the Bellapierre Cosmetics Makeup Base. This product helps to not only mattify eye makeup, but it also provides a water proof base and can be used as a concealer for blemishes and underneath eyes – areas that are more difficult to cover with makeup. It easy to apply, and creamy in texture – and the product is paraben free. This product may not work on all skin tones, so you may need to use a foundation/tinted moisturizer.

This months box was a great return to a clean slate getting ready for spring. All these products in my opinion are keepers, and definitely worth a try.
