Memberships perks for being a monthly BeautyBox5 subscriber is:

All members receive FREE shipping, & receive exclusive discounts from their partner brands.

In this months subscription box, I received the following items:

  • Coastal Scents Eye Shadow (Set 42 – mint condition, sundried, stone cold, & wild raisin)
  • Sally Hansen  Salon Effects (330 – fly with me)
  • Ultraflesh The Gold Standard Mascara in Blackout
  • Softsoap Nutri Serums Vitamin E Body Wash
  • Garner Fructis Daily Care Fortifying Shampoo

The full products this month valued at over $100, a great steal for only $12/monthly subscription.

There is also the option to subscribe quarterly for $30 (save $6), or yearly for $99 (save $45).

  1. Coastal Scents Eye Shadow  This set of 4 super pigmented shadows are good great whether they are paired together for an all over look or just a few to accent. I thought the colors were great paired with one another however myself I didn’t like the consistency. I have become more of a fan of mineral powder type shadows and the airiness they give to your eyes. The colors were bold however and smooth.
  2. Sally Hansen  Salon Effects Have you ever wanted a manicure that lasted 10 days? With these nail strips just apply and smooth over nails and you’ll have easy nail art. Plus it comes off easily with just nail polish remover. I have had the pleasure to try similar products from direct sales companies. I did notice a bit of a difference between the two. I found that these didn’t last as long on my nails and left more of a residue when removed. The patterns are great and fun; definitely worth a try.
  3. Ultraflesh The Gold Standard Mascara in Blackout  Dramatic, thicker lashes are what more women want. The expert wand on this mascara gets every lash coated for major results. Mascara is one thing that any woman is always looking to find the best of. I will agree the wand on this mascara is great, and helps to define lashes without clumping.
  4. Softsoap Nutri Serums Vitamin E Body Wash  Treating your body to moisture and a great fresh scent is a must for most. But how about adding softening serum pearls with Vitamin E, and Omega 3 & 6 to give your skin the nutrients it needs during these dry winter months. This was a clean wash, and did keep my skin hydrated after showering; however I am very particular on ingredients in my products.
  5. Garner Fructis Daily Care Fortifying Shampoo What woman wouldn’t want healthier hair for the New Year?? Strengthen your hair with the grapefruit antioxidants and proteins, fortifying your hair and adding shine. For me I used to use this brand a while back, before I found out about sulfates and parabens. So for the reason I didn’t use this product. I have heard great things about it, however for me it didn’t work.

BeautyBox5 – October Review 2014

With Fall weather in full swing, the simplicity of Autumn sets in. Showing off flawless skin, hydrated lips and a few pops of color – and you’ve got a put together look with not much fuss at all. This months BeautyBox 5 has yet again, got you covered.

BeautyBox5 – is a subscription based beauty sampling program that send 5 cosmetic samples to your door monthly. It is geared to helping introduce women to new cosmetic products and educating them as well. The products vary monthly and are based on best products for your lifestyle.

In this months subscription box, I received the following items:

  • Chapstick Hydration Lock
  • Bellapierre Cosmetics Cheek and Lip Stain in Pink
  • Extend Your Beauty Cosmetic Tool
  • Nanacoco Nail Polish (Mermaid Lake)
  • Lashem Picture Perfect

The products this month valued at over $35, a great steal for only $12/monthly subscription.

There is also the option to subscribe quarterly for $30 (save $6), or yearly for $99 (save $45).

  1. Chapstick Hydration Lock – This double-ended lipbalm gives 2 conditioning formulas that will not only protect your lips, but also smooth them. It can bear worn alone, or under a lipstick or gloss for extra protection.
  2. Bellapierre Cosmetics Cheek and Lip Stain in Pink – I myself love products that have multi purposes, and this one is just that. This easy to use check and lipstain is a perfect easy morning add, or to have in your purse for a quick fix. The color is a great one too, subtle but noticeable.
  3. Extend Your Beauty Cosmetic Tool –  I don’t know about you, but when I get down to the end of my makeup I will try anything to get that last little bit out. I’ve tried using q-tips and other items to scrape the last bits out, but never can get it all. With this cosmetic tool, you can easily scrape it out. Just think of it like a rubber spatula you use to scrape out the last little bits of brownie mix in a bowl; it makes it easy. Definitely a recommendation!!
  4. Nanacoco Nail Polish (Mermaid Lake) – Nail polish, one can not have enough. This teal color is a great transition color for the fall months, just looking at it makes my day a little better. It’s a high quality formula as well, for professional results.
  5. Lashem Picture Perfect – Who doesn’t want Picture Perfect skin at ANY age. This serum helps to reduce those fine lines for a gorgeous glow, and also doubles as a primer to provide a smooth canvas for your makeup. Double duty product!

BeautyBox5 – September Review 2014

 IMG_3403

Fall is officially almost here (less than a week) and with the cooler weather headed our way, this months BeautyBox 5 is here to keep your pretty head high and give you those new stunning fall favorites.

BeautyBox5 – is a subscription based beauty sampling program that send 5 cosmetic samples to your door monthly. It is geared to helping introduce women to new cosmetic products and educating them as well. The products vary monthly and are based on best products for your lifestyle.

Memberships perks for being a monthly BeautyBox5 subscriber is:

All members receive FREE shipping, & receive exclusive discounts from their partner brands.

In this months subscription box, I received the following items:

  • Nicka K New York Eyelight Crayon (Moss)
  • Natural Style by FUBU Deep Conditioner & Co-Wash
  • Sally Hansen Toe Spacers
  • My Beauty Spot Nail Polish (Goddess Nail Collection)
  • Chrislie Formulations 3-in-1 Eye Bright

The products this month valued at over $30, a great steal for only $12/monthly subscription.

There is also the option to subscribe quarterly for $30 (save $6), or yearly for $99 (save $45).

  1. Nicka K New York Eyelight Crayon (Moss) – This creamy eyeshadow stick glides on easily and adds pigment as a pop of color, or can be used as a fun eyeliner. For my it smudged and creased almost immediately after putting it on. I am not a fan of stick shadows, and even when I used a primer have a hard time getting it to last. It was ok when used as a eyeliner though, but honestly it didn’t work for me even though the color was a perfect green for fall.
  2. Natural Style by FUBU Deep Conditioner & Co-Wash – Equipped with 8 repairing oils and shea butter, this treatment strengthens hair to minimize frizz. Best of all its made without sulfates and parabens (a plus for me) and is gentle enough to be used as a co-wash for those with curly hair, and a deep conditioner after shampooing for all hair types. I love a good deep hair conditioning once a week — a must in my books when you use hot tools on your hair. This product worked great, and you don’t need very much. I tend to concentrate it only on my lower ends of my hair.
  3. Sally Hansen Toe Spacers – For me I have used toe spacers when giving myself pedicures for as long as I can remember, but changing them ever so often is a must. They tend to lose shape and get worn over time – a must for anyone who does their nails!
  4. My Beauty Spot Nail Polish (Goddess Nail Collection) – This one pairs nicely with the toe spacers above. Incredibly bold color (this one very fall), formula glides on smooth PLUS dries quickly for a nail polish. Plus did I mention its a PERFECT color for fall!!
  5. Chrislie Formulations 3-in-1 Eye Bright – Wake up bright-eyed, no matter how late you stayed up watching one more episode of our favorite show. When used overnight, this serum make the delicate area around your eyes smoother, brighter, and firmer – reducing dark circles and rejuvenating skin. For my I have only started to use this product and havent seen results yet, but for a product that does offer those benefits I think its DEF worth trying!

Beautybox5 – March Review

20140315-093431.jpg

With the weather starting to change and the first day of Spring this coming week, this months Beautybox5 has you right on track for the season – Spring Cleaning!

I know for me after the brutal winter we faced up in the Northeast this year, my skin is begging for a little TLC and these products are to do just that.

For those unfamiliar with the company, BeautyBox5 is a subscription based beauty sampling program that send 5 cosmetic samples to your door monthly.

  • Jane’s Pick All Natural Soaps
  • Tree Hut Shea Body Butter
  • Bellapierre Cosmetics Makeup Base
  • H2O Plus Hand & Nail Cream
  • Swissco Dual-sided Facial Pad

The products this month valued at over $50, a great steal for only $12/monthly subscription.

There is also the option to subscribe quarterly for $30 (save $6), or yearly for $99 (save $45).

The first item I tried out was Jane’s Pick All Natural Soap in Peace (Lavender & Litsea). It’s all natural made with a base of Olive Oil, Shea Butter, Hemp Seed Oil, Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Avocado Oil, the finest Pure Essential Oils. Those who know me know how big I am into ingredients like these, simple, natural and effective.  The bar lathers nicely and can be used on your entire body, but I especially like the way it work on my face. It leaves a nice clean – no residue or dryness, just simply clean. This is a great product to have in your home, especially with the great homemade look, it’s a piece of art to display even for your guests to wash their hands.

The next product I tried, was the Swissco Dual-sided Facial Pad, and I used it with the All Natural Soap on my face. Now for anyone with sensitive skin I wouldn’t use this facial pad more than once a week  – as with any kind of exfoliant. If you exfoliate too much you may tend to stress the skin out a bit which can lead to over sensitivity, and possibly over oil production – like anything use it in moderation, rule of thumb for me is exfoliation about 1-2 times a week. This specific facial pad is a great item to add to your bathing/cleansing routine without a doubt. The soft terry cloth side is an alternative to a wash cloth, and the other side helps get that dead layer of skin off. For those that have spring break, or summer on the mind – this is the best side to help exfoliate the dead skin prior to being either in the sun or using a self tanner and not looking blotchy.

Now after any bath or shower, its crucial to apply a lotion. This is when it tends to absorb better into the skin and also helps any dryness that can be caused by water residue. Shea Body butter has always been a go to item for me, and with the Tree Hut Shea Body Butter in Coconut Lime – it not only helped my skin, but transported me to the “scent” of summer – margaritas & suntan lotion! The product is made of certified organic shea butter and natural extracts, is paraben free and provides natural anti-aging properties.

You can not forget about your hands this time of year. I myself between getting manicures and pedicures, keep my hands and nails moisturized. H2O Plus Hand & Nail Cream does just that. It provides your hands with the hydration they need to soften them without being greasy and is light-weight. From the silk proteins, Vitamin E and marine botanicals this Spa product is perfectly targeted for optimal hand care. This will be a go to and will be in my purse at all times!

Last but not least is the Bellapierre Cosmetics Makeup Base. This product helps to not only mattify eye makeup, but it also provides a water proof base and can be used as a concealer for blemishes and underneath eyes – areas that are more difficult to cover with makeup. It easy to apply, and creamy in texture – and the product is paraben free. This product may not work on all skin tones, so you may need to use a foundation/tinted moisturizer.

This months box was a great return to a clean slate getting ready for spring. All these products in my opinion are keepers, and definitely worth a try.

Happy Spring Cleaning!!
