IMG_0103

The New Year is here, and with that many resolutions and change. In this month BeautyBox5 they are helping give you all you need to be open to those fresh possibilities.

BeautyBox5 – is a subscription based beauty sampling program that send 5 cosmetic samples to your door monthly. It is geared to helping introduce women to new cosmetic products and educating them as well. The products vary monthly and are based on best products for your lifestyle.

Memberships perks for being a monthly BeautyBox5 subscriber is:

All members receive FREE shipping, & receive exclusive discounts from their partner brands.

In this months subscription box, I received the following items:

  • Coastal Scents Eye Shadow (Set 42 – mint condition, sundried, stone cold, & wild raisin)
  • Sally Hansen  Salon Effects (330 – fly with me)
  • Ultraflesh The Gold Standard Mascara in Blackout
  • Softsoap Nutri Serums Vitamin E Body Wash
  • Garner Fructis Daily Care Fortifying Shampoo

The full products this month valued at over $100, a great steal for only $12/monthly subscription.

There is also the option to subscribe quarterly for $30 (save $6), or yearly for $99 (save $45).

  1. Coastal Scents Eye Shadow  This set of 4 super pigmented shadows are good great whether they are paired together for an all over look or just a few to accent. I thought the colors were great paired with one another however myself I didn’t like the consistency. I have become more of a fan of mineral powder type shadows and the airiness they give to your eyes. The colors were bold however and smooth.
  2. Sally Hansen  Salon Effects Have you ever wanted a manicure that lasted 10 days? With these nail strips just apply and smooth over nails and you’ll have easy nail art. Plus it comes off easily with just nail polish remover. I have had the pleasure to try similar products from direct sales companies. I did notice a bit of a difference between the two. I found that these didn’t last as long on my nails and left more of a residue when removed. The patterns are great and fun; definitely worth a try.
  3. Ultraflesh The Gold Standard Mascara in Blackout  Dramatic, thicker lashes are what more women want. The expert wand on this mascara gets every lash coated for major results. Mascara is one thing that any woman is always looking to find the best of. I will agree the wand on this mascara is great, and helps to define lashes without clumping.
  4. Softsoap Nutri Serums Vitamin E Body Wash  Treating your body to moisture and a great fresh scent is a must for most. But how about adding softening serum pearls with Vitamin E, and Omega 3 & 6 to give your skin the nutrients it needs during these dry winter months. This was a clean wash, and did keep my skin hydrated after showering; however I am very particular on ingredients in my products.
  5. Garner Fructis Daily Care Fortifying Shampoo What woman wouldn’t want healthier hair for the New Year?? Strengthen your hair with the grapefruit antioxidants and proteins, fortifying your hair and adding shine. For me I used to use this brand a while back, before I found out about sulfates and parabens. So for the reason I didn’t use this product. I have heard great things about it, however for me it didn’t work.

BeautyBox5 – October Review 2014

IMG_3501

With Fall weather in full swing, the simplicity of Autumn sets in. Showing off flawless skin, hydrated lips and a few pops of color – and you’ve got a put together look with not much fuss at all. This months BeautyBox 5 has yet again, got you covered.

In this months subscription box, I received the following items:

  • Chapstick Hydration Lock
  • Bellapierre Cosmetics Cheek and Lip Stain in Pink
  • Extend Your Beauty Cosmetic Tool
  • Nanacoco Nail Polish (Mermaid Lake)
  • Lashem Picture Perfect

The products this month valued at over $35, a great steal for only $12/monthly subscription.

There is also the option to subscribe quarterly for $30 (save $6), or yearly for $99 (save $45).

  1. Chapstick Hydration Lock – This double-ended lipbalm gives 2 conditioning formulas that will not only protect your lips, but also smooth them. It can bear worn alone, or under a lipstick or gloss for extra protection.
  2. Bellapierre Cosmetics Cheek and Lip Stain in Pink – I myself love products that have multi purposes, and this one is just that. This easy to use check and lipstain is a perfect easy morning add, or to have in your purse for a quick fix. The color is a great one too, subtle but noticeable.
  3. Extend Your Beauty Cosmetic Tool –  I don’t know about you, but when I get down to the end of my makeup I will try anything to get that last little bit out. I’ve tried using q-tips and other items to scrape the last bits out, but never can get it all. With this cosmetic tool, you can easily scrape it out. Just think of it like a rubber spatula you use to scrape out the last little bits of brownie mix in a bowl; it makes it easy. Definitely a recommendation!!
  4. Nanacoco Nail Polish (Mermaid Lake) – Nail polish, one can not have enough. This teal color is a great transition color for the fall months, just looking at it makes my day a little better. It’s a high quality formula as well, for professional results.
  5. Lashem Picture Perfect – Who doesn’t want Picture Perfect skin at ANY age. This serum helps to reduce those fine lines for a gorgeous glow, and also doubles as a primer to provide a smooth canvas for your makeup. Double duty product!

BeautyBox5 – September Review 2014

 IMG_3403

Fall is officially almost here (less than a week) and with the cooler weather headed our way, this months BeautyBox 5 is here to keep your pretty head high and give you those new stunning fall favorites.

  • Nicka K New York Eyelight Crayon (Moss)
  • Natural Style by FUBU Deep Conditioner & Co-Wash
  • Sally Hansen Toe Spacers
  • My Beauty Spot Nail Polish (Goddess Nail Collection)
  • Chrislie Formulations 3-in-1 Eye Bright

The products this month valued at over $30, a great steal for only $12/monthly subscription.

There is also the option to subscribe quarterly for $30 (save $6), or yearly for $99 (save $45).

  1. Nicka K New York Eyelight Crayon (Moss) – This creamy eyeshadow stick glides on easily and adds pigment as a pop of color, or can be used as a fun eyeliner. For my it smudged and creased almost immediately after putting it on. I am not a fan of stick shadows, and even when I used a primer have a hard time getting it to last. It was ok when used as a eyeliner though, but honestly it didn’t work for me even though the color was a perfect green for fall.
  2. Natural Style by FUBU Deep Conditioner & Co-Wash – Equipped with 8 repairing oils and shea butter, this treatment strengthens hair to minimize frizz. Best of all its made without sulfates and parabens (a plus for me) and is gentle enough to be used as a co-wash for those with curly hair, and a deep conditioner after shampooing for all hair types. I love a good deep hair conditioning once a week — a must in my books when you use hot tools on your hair. This product worked great, and you don’t need very much. I tend to concentrate it only on my lower ends of my hair.
  3. Sally Hansen Toe Spacers – For me I have used toe spacers when giving myself pedicures for as long as I can remember, but changing them ever so often is a must. They tend to lose shape and get worn over time – a must for anyone who does their nails!
  4. My Beauty Spot Nail Polish (Goddess Nail Collection) – This one pairs nicely with the toe spacers above. Incredibly bold color (this one very fall), formula glides on smooth PLUS dries quickly for a nail polish. Plus did I mention its a PERFECT color for fall!!
  5. Chrislie Formulations 3-in-1 Eye Bright – Wake up bright-eyed, no matter how late you stayed up watching one more episode of our favorite show. When used overnight, this serum make the delicate area around your eyes smoother, brighter, and firmer – reducing dark circles and rejuvenating skin. For my I have only started to use this product and havent seen results yet, but for a product that does offer those benefits I think its DEF worth trying!

Beautybox5 – April Review

20140419-090426.jpg

I have been loving this warmer weather that has graced us lately. With the warmer ahead my beauty routine can sometimes come to a hault, and now with a 7 month old, having time to even wash my face is a feat. My box had a bit of a mishap in the mail this month, and got squished. Unfortunately, shipping is always out of our control but when it happens to a customer Beautybox5 offers to replace it if the product(s) have been compromised – great news to know!

In this months Beautybox5 they have offered the great basic must have items to help you get ready for spring beauty.

For those unfamiliar with the company, BeautyBox5 is a subscription based beauty sampling program that send 5 cosmetic samples to your door monthly.

  • BH Cosmetics California Collection Eyeshadow Palette
  • Nicka K New York Hydro Lipstick
  • Blum Naturals All Purpose Cleansing Wipes
  • Jergens Natural Glow – 3 Days to Glow Moisturizer
  • Bonnie Bell Lip Definer

The products this month valued at over $40, a great steal for only $12/monthly subscription.

There is also the option to subscribe quarterly for $30 (save $6), or yearly for $99 (save $45).

The first item up that I tried was the BH Cosmetics Eyeshadow Palette. This palette includes a shade from each of the California Collection palettes: Hollywood, San Francisco, and Malibu. Hollywood color is a great evening out shadow, with its purple shade and hint of shimmer. San Francisco color is perfect daytime neutral brown shadow with specks of shimmer. The Malibu color is a gold shadow, very shimmery. My favorite color is San Francisco – all colors applied well, didnt smudge and were a fun change of colors to try out.

Now comes the  hydro lip color by Nicka K New York. WOW! Finding a lipstick that not only feels good, lasts and is good for you (paraben free) is a plus! I received Concerto color (a great spring color, mix of pink color but neutral) with the moisturizing properties, there is no need to layer with lipbalms – plus I didn’t have to reapply this like some lipsticks, it lasted for about 4 hours for me.

This next item comes in handy for me, especially with my son. The Blum Naturals Cleansing Wipes, are perfect! The canister has a keyring so you can attached it to anything (in my case my baby bag). They are not only good for general wipes but for any makeup, sticky hands – you name it. Plus the citrus scent is invigorating I find, and the product is natural and certified organic, hypo-alergenic, paraben free and cruelty free. LOVE!

Bonnie Bell lip definer bring back memories of highschool years. I remember using this brand back then and its great to see they are still around. I myself don’t usually use lip definer, however paired with the lipstick above it works great. It’s a handy liner that helps keep lipcolor from feathering and the color Boysenberry works well with the lipstick above.

Finally there is the Jergens Natural Glow 3 Days Moitsurizer. I have used Jergens in the past and have found great success with a gradual color from this, perfect for those winter pale legs when you need a hint of color with the spring dresses. I myself havent used the product yet, plus I am not a fan of the smell and ingredients in the product. However, I do suggest if you havent tried this product and are looking for that hint of color – this is a great product to try out.

All in all these products in my opinion are keepers, and definitely worth trying.
