Subscription business model

My first review was with Wantable. A start-up company that launched in August 2012 with the beauty category, has since introduced fashion accessories and intimates categories. The focus of this monthly subscription box is being a discovery platform where they provide customers with hand-picked, curated, boutique makeup, accessories and intimates – they utilize style quiz answers for each individual when they pick select pieces or products in each box. They work with brands like Coobie, Betsey Johnson, FACE Stockholm (sold at J Crew), Color Club, Besame and many more.

What makes this monthly subscription box company different from the others is, the products are full size, and the subscription runs at $36/month or can be purchased as a single box for $40. Shipping is free and you can cancel, return or skip anytime!

As you can see above I received the makeup subscription box to review. The items I received were based on the style quiz and answers I chose (you can always update your style quiz before receiving the next months box). Based on my preferences this month this is what I was likely to receive:

The total retail value of the products above is $77 & for the subscription value of either $36/month or $40 for one time box – this is in my mind a GREAT value.

Many of these companies and products I have heard of before and used, but a few I haven’t heard of and now am a fan of the products, especially when it comes to mascara. The Lip Cream is an amazing concept of lip color with a mirror and light on the wand – great product. Color Club nail colors I have used in the past, and have even used their color changing brand (Ruby Wing) during this past summer – which I was a HUGE fan of ( I LOVE my nail polishes!!) The travel size smudger brush is a great item for me to have in my purse. I have many high-end makeup brushes and this works just as well. Blush is a great color, just enough sheen/color to not be overdone. I myself don’t tend to wear blush often, I tend to gravitate towards bronzer, but this is a great alternative.

Based on my review above, I will definitely stay connected with Wantable and even try out the other boxes for fashion accessories and intimates. I will also play around with the style quiz a bit more to narrow down other products that I may like to try.
