When Face Masks Review

Sheet skincare masks have been a new favorite of mine of late. They are typically simple to apply, easy to use and dont take to long. Using masks like this are also great because they cause you to sit and relax, which nowadays is hard to do. When I was approached by When Masks to try a few of their masks, I was excited to say the least.

When Masks, are created and formulate in Korea – and are part of what is now known as KBeauty a great new rise in beauty/skincare. Many of these products are innovative and work wonders. When Masks are just that they, take the typically sheet masks you find and take them a step further. Typical sheet masks are made of fabric or pulp and are surrounded by serum product – When Masks use Bio-Cellulose sheets that are made of coconuts, a gel like texture that adhears to the skin much nicer and allows the product to penetrate the skin more efficiently.

When offers 5 different sheet masks, with different reasons of skincare need in mind. I was given 10:00PM & Travelmate masks. The 10:00PM mask is meant to rejuvenate and restore skin while Travelmate is to refresh skin. The mask is soft and jelly like when placed on the skin, and offers a cooling effect. The 10:00PM is infused with coconut juice and contains hyaluronic acid and ginseng extracts to keep skin healthy, and watermelon extract and collagen to improve skin elasticity.

I love that not only do these masks work, they are paraben/sulfate/phthalate free; also vegan and gluten free. I enjoyed the cooling sensation and the hydration that the mask gave my skin. I highly suggest you give it a try, and see for yourself how different these sheet masks are from others on the market.

When offers 5 unique masks: Travelmate, 10PM, Snow Magic, Glamour Base, and The Last Choice. You can find these masks at: Sephora, Ulta Beauty, Anthroplogie (online), Birchbox (online), and Rickys NYC.

MAKE Beauty | Review

When it comes to beauty products I have my fair share. I read review (much like the this one your reading) and I do my own research. Finding products that work, aren’t going to cost too much, and aren’t bad for you are my main focus points when it comes to makeup. I also like finding products that are made locally, helping the nearby economy. So when I was given the opportunity to try a local brand, MAKE, I was ready for the challenge.

MAKE is a beauty company based out of New York City. They believe that beauty has no rules, and everyone has their own artistic approach. Be inspired, whimsical, outgoing, outspoken, intelligent, and confident. The products are sourced without parabens, and are not tested on animals. They also donate 10% of sales to the We See Beauty Foundation, supporting women-lead, worker-owned cooperative businesses across the Americas.

The product lines they offer are the typically; Beauty (face, eyes, lips, cheeks) & Skincare (cleansers, toners, moisturizers). I was lucky enough to try to products from their beauty line (pictured below). I received the Matte Finish Eyeshadow in Alabaster and Silk Cream Lipstick in Taffy.

The Matte Finish Eyeshadow in Alabaster is a soft eggshell with peach undertones, perfect base shadow for most any look. The shadow was extremely velvety on the skin, and had great pigmentation. Vitamins C & E are amongst the ingredients in the shadow and help to provide antioxidant protection on the delicate eye area. This can be used either wet or dry. Being my skin tone is a little pale at the moment from the winter it was a bit hard to notice the color, however I think once I do get a little color this Summer this would be a great go to for a fresh swipe of color across the eyelid.

The Silk Cream Lipstick in Taffy was is a medium pink with purple undertones, I was classify this as one of the go to lipstick colors choices in the mauve family. The lipstick has vivid color, and was very creamy. Rosehip, Soybean, Safflower Oils are amongst the ingredients in the lipstick and help to provide a protective moisturizing treatment. The lipsticks are feather resistant and true to color. As you can see for the swatch I took below, this color is very pretty even though I am fair-skinned at the moment. A great color tone for most everyone I think, and it was nice how it wasn’t heavy or drying on the lips.

In all I was pleasantly surprised by the company and products as a whole. Plus the cute packaging didn’t hurt either. I look forward to sampling more of their products soon.
